Real Time Visualization VOLUMEPRO 500 RELEASE NOTES / REQUIREMENTS FOR INSTALLING VLI VERSION 2.10 June-19-2001 ======================= To install VLI v 2.1 and have it working with your existing applications, you must do the following: 1. Delete previous versions of VLI. Before you install the current version of VLI, you must uninstall any previous version of the VolumePro software on your system. 2. You must recompile your existing applications with the new VLI software and drivers. 3. You must use the new versions of Revli and Gfxsanity that come with VLI version 2.1.4. A 3D graphics accelerator card that does not appear in this table may be acceptable as long it has the minimum requirements stated in the section above. This may result in the failure to render volumes that were successfully rendered in version 2.1. See the example code in the VLIOpenGLContext.cpp program for a way to shrink the volume to a renderable size. Dropped Voxels in Rendered Image -------------------------------- In previous versions of VLI, a volume with a dimension that was larger than 256 voxels would lose up to 32 voxels. This is now fixed, but because VLI now creates the image's true rendering size, you may need to crop the image to keep it in bounds.
