Clinical Case StudiesWhen TeraRecon embarked on the first edition of the clinical case studies book, we did not fully appreciate how extensive the thirst for knowledge was relating to the topics contained therein. The first edition featured tens of case studies authored by a broad spectrum of physicians and imaging professionals, from internationally renowned experts at the world's top medical institutions, to those managing suburban imaging practices single-handed. The challenges described were diverse, often surprising, but in all cases Aquarius solutions were successfully applied to overcome these obstacles. Learning how this was achieved was simply fascinating for the editorial team as the book was put together. Once the book was released, we quickly realized how many people felt the same way. Our initial print run size of 10,000 copies was selected due to the economy of scale, rather than by any expectation that so many copies would be requested by people in our community. However, as our supply quickly dwindled and a second production run was necessary, we finally understood the great need for a reference that dealt with the practical application of the great medical imaging innovations of the last decade. The desire for information on clinical 3D topics and the integration of 3D solutions into standard reading and reporting practices proves how quickly multi-slice CT and MR have become today's imaging workhorse modalities, not only in radiology, but also in other clinical specialties.
